Text File for Sample 1
The data that follow are part of a Bound Journal Subject Index.Note that the <indx sty=hsbj> at the top of the file ties this file to the HSUBINDX Style File, it matches the argument to the &STYLE global descriptor statement in that Style File. Note that the data file and the Style File are actually tied together in the Composer JCL. The chapter opening, including everything above and including the full-measure horizontal rule, are in the data file between the tags <indxftnt> and </indxftnt>. The body of the index is delimited by the tags <indxbody> and </indxbody>. Within the index body, the <ltr> tags are alphabetic headings; their typographic characteristics are defined by <TAG=LTR> in the HSUBINDX Style File. Five levels of index elements are noted by the tags <l1> through <l5> in the data file. The typographic characteristics of these tags are specified by the related <TAG=L1> through <TAG=L5> in the Style File. The $MAKE function command under <TAG=INDX:HSBJ> loads the horizontal rule component of the running heads into System Buffer S1 which is used in &RUNHEAD number 4. Note that this running head appears on all pages except the first. The rule under the chapter opening on the first page is in data. See 24th data line below: <hrfu>; shown in bold. <indx sty=hsbj> <stpg>0001</stpg> <indxfrnt> <typ fn=160b ld=200> <ct>Subject Index of House and Senate <ct>Bills, Resolutions, and Memorials <typ sk=200> <typ fn=080r ld=080> <ct><ob>Source: Information Division, Joint Legislative Management Committee<cb> <typ sk=200> <table col=1> <cdef n=1 s=1 w=65 f=PARA a=T> <c1><typ lt=000 rt=540 fn=090b al=j><ems>This index embraces all measures introduced in both the Senate and House.
