VersaComp-2000: The Universal Publishing System

Introducing a truly innovative approach to publishing that allows you to produce all of your widely varying documents, without the need to accept the constraints imposed by lesser systems.

VersaComp-2000 is a highly-programmable publishing system that performs high-quality composition and pagination from an extremely wide range of document input formats, including XML and SGML, and that generates composed documents in PDF, PostScript, and XML formats.

VersaComp-2000 is a highly-sophisticated, batch-processing system that will swiftly produce your documents on a variety of hardware platforms.

VersaComp-2000 also provides exceptional facilities for publishing database files used for Directories, Parts Lists, bibliographies, and catalogs, including documents containing complex display ads with page-number references. Such files can be handled even when they contain only simple data identification codes.

 

eSysOut 
This program processes Line-Data files (Sysout reports), and transforms the data to PostScript, PDF, and XML files. The program includes an easy-to-use scripting language that provides the flexibility to handle complex reports.

Print Your Mainframe Files on a PostScript Printer

eSysOut includes the following capabilities:
  • Overlays - Page overlays containing fixed data and graphics may be merged onto PDF pages. Multiple overlays can be handled for a single report.


  • Bookmarks - Up to nine (9) levels of PDF bookmarking.


  • File Splitting - A single report can be split into multiple PDF files for selective distribution.


  • Typographic Enhancements - PDF reports can be enhanced with color, horizontal and vertical rules, font switching, and leadering.


  • Multi-Lingual Text - Reports containing English text along with foreign-language text, including Chinese, Japanese and Korean, can be handled.
 

AFP-View 
The AFP-View program has been designed to transform files containing IBM AFP data to bookmarked, Portable Document Format (PDF) files, for viewing using Adobe's Acrobat Reader.

The AFP-View program can also transform the input file into a PostScript file instead of a PDF file, and can also generate concurrently a PostScript file and a PDF file. Most reports will run at a rate of at least 10,000 pages per minute on a 1.5GHz machine.

The AFP-View program is controlled by a user-written style sheet that consists of simple commands that can be written by non-programmers.

AFP-View uses the Versacomp-2000 composition engine, a high-quality composition and pagination program to produce the output pages. This makes possible the use of many typographic features to enhance the appearance of the output pages.

Reports containing English text along with foreign-language text, including Chinese, Japanese and Korean, can be handled.

 

XML-Imager 
XML-Imager can be used to transform mainframe line-out (sysout) files, or any other line-oriented files to browser-ready XML files for use on the Internet.
 
 

Pagetec SGML Composer 
Our SGML Composer uses a Style File to relate typographic considerations to tags within the hierarchy of a Document Type Definition. A Style File may be written to control composition of a document that uses an “SGML-like” tagging scheme.
